When these tools are useful
- Preparing a short clip for a product page, listing or social post.
- Reducing a recording’s file size before sharing or uploading it.
- Checking a clip’s real dimensions, duration or format before editing.
- Making a small preview or poster asset from a longer recording.
Let the destination decide the settings: a marketplace, a messaging app and a web page each accept different sizes and formats. Shorter and smaller is kinder to viewers on mobile data, but watch one full play-through of the output — compression problems often appear in motion, not in a still frame. Keep the original recording; a processed clip cannot recover detail that was removed.
